Sapporo Factory [サッポロファクトリー]
Sapporo Factory is a commercial complex built on the site of the factory of Sapporo Breweries Limited.
It is located about 1 kilometer east southeast of Sapporo station.
It was opened in 1993, and has shopping mall, multiplex cinema, multipurpose hall and hot spring facility.
In this place, the first beer brewery in Japan was built in 1876.
It became the Sapporo Breweries Limited as a company later.
The factory had operated until 1965, and after that it became a museum of beer.
The factory was moved to Eniwa city located to the southeast of Sapporo city in 1989, then this site was redeveloped as a commercial complex.
Some buildings are in the site, and one of them is the old factory building built of brick.
How to get here
Get off at "Bus-Center-mae" station of subway Tozai Line.
Then, about 0.2 km walk from there.
Or, by route bus, about 5 minutes from Sapporo station.
